With various choices of Japanese dining places scattered around Bali, my must-visit has got to be Rayjin Teppanyaki Dining Bar. Located in Petitenget, it’s totally on top of the chains of dining bars in the area. When you enter this place, you’ll walk into a warm, friendly and cosy ambience. The place is not too big, but just spacey enough. Please do make reservations first in advance, just to be safe and guaranteed that you’ll get a slot of dinner here. With Japanese language merry and happy greetings, you’ll settle in for a joyous dining experience.
When you make a reservation, the restaurant will give you a card with your name written in it – Japanese style. It’s so totally hard to leave it out of my post, so pardon me for having the card in all of my food photos.
See the handwritten name on your reservation card ? Isn’t it lovely to be seated and looking at that lovely letters.
So let’s start with the small bites first. My choice goes to this lovely plate of gyoza. Crispy outside, juicy inside. Enjoy while they’re hot. With the refreshing, tangy, soy sauce, it’s hard to stop munching on this dish !
Here goes the main course. I asked for medium rare, and they’re spot on ! The flavour of the beef plus the sauce and rice compliment and complete each other. It’s really really good, trust me. Can you feel your eyes wandering and your mouth watering yet ?
To be honest, my first visit here totally because I’ve heard of this legendary matcha creme brûlée. That’s where my curiosity intrigue. Being into matcha things so much, I really did want to find out. And boy, it’s true. With the crackling crunch surface, you’ll dig into a bittersweet green tea flavour, creamy and silky texture of the creme brûlée. It’s so addictive, in every visit, I never choose other dessert. It’s this one or none at all.
And so, I was there for my 28th late birthday dinner, episode the hundreds. Haha. Yes. I celebrated super ultra duper multiple birthday celebration in 2016. Probably embracing my late twenties years. So they did know, it was my birthday. Before dessert, they turned off all the music and lights, and all of the sudden every staff sang happy birthday and gave me this assortments of pastries as a birthday cake and surprise. I was so happy and touched. One of the best birthday night ever for my 28 !
So, that’s the review for Rayjin Teppanyaki Dining Bar. And your turn to visit !
Peace and Extra Love, S.
